Southwest China's Guizhou province plans to cultivate a number of leading health and pharmaceutical enterprises and products to develop itself into a health and pharmaceutical industry cluster, which will provide important steps in the crucial fight against poverty, according to an industrial promotion event held in Xiuwen county on July 5.
It is reported that the health and pharmaceutical industry in Guizhou mainly covers four major aspects: a planting industry, a manufacturing industry, a service industry, and an integration industry.
Data shows that in the first quarter of this year, the total output value of the health and pharmaceutical industry in Guizhou reached 19.7 billion yuan ($2.87 billion), accounting for 5.9 percent of the top 10 billion-yuan industries.
The relevant implementation plan indicated that the province's output of health and pharmaceutical industry is expected to reach 100 billion yuan in 2019, 108 billion yuan in 2020, and 125 billion yuan in 2022.
A leading group and an experts group were set up to be responsible for the development of the health and pharmaceutical industry, the tackling of key technical problems, as well as for technical consultation.
The province will continue to support the development of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, the medical equipment and materials industry, as well as the special dual-purpose medical and food industry. It will also speed up the supply of raw materials to encourage key pharmaceutical enterprises to develop the construction of pharmaceutical bases in impoverished regions. In addition, the pharmaceutical service industry and the health integration industry will be extended.
Leading pharmaceutical enterprises in Guizhou, represented by Yibai, Jingfeng, and Bailing, will receive precise support from the province. A number of leading pharmaceutical enterprises with advantageous products will be cultivated to promote the green development, brand promotion, resource integration, and market expansion of the health and pharmaceutical industry.
